RAuxAF 100 – Buckingham Palace Parade

On17th May 2024, His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester took the salute at a Royal Auxiliary Air Force Parade at Buckingham Palace. The Parade featured a march past of the Sovereign’s Colour for the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and the nine recently-rededicated Squadron Standards including those of 502 (Ulster) Squadron, 600 (City of London) Squadron, 601 (County of London) Squadron, 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron, 605 (County of Warwickshire) Squadron, 2503 (City of Lincoln) Squadron, 2620 (County of Norfolk) Squadron, 2622 (Highland) Squadron and 2623 (East Anglian) Squadron.

Music was provided by the Royal Auxiliary Air Force Band from Cranwell, and the new Royal Auxiliary Air Force March was premiered before the His Royal Highness. Its composer, Squadron Leader Ted Sellers, the Band’s Director of Music, said: “It has been a real honour to have had the chance to write this March at such an important time in the history of our Service”.
