His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO
His Royal Highness became the Foundation’s Patron in February 2012. He has close personal and family ties with the Foundation and with the Royal Auxiliary Air Force. He was present at the Dedication Service in September 2004 of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum and at the Dedication Service in October 2012 of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force Roll of Honour and the Laying Up of the Sovereign’s Colour in in the Royal Air Force Church of St Clement Danes. His Royal Highness is currently the Honorary Air Commodore of 501 (County of Gloucester) Squadron based at Brize Norton – an appointment also held by his father, the former Duke of Gloucester. His mother, Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, was Commandant of the Womens’ Auxiliary Air Force from 1939 to 1944.
