WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP
Founded in 2004, the Royal Auxiliary Air Force Foundation is an MOD-recognised charity whose mission is to provide a focal point for researching, preserving and promoting the history and achievements of the RAuxAF from its formation in 1924 up to the present day. This includes:
- Maintaining the Force Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) in Staffordshire.
- Maintaining the Force Roll of Honour at the Royal Air Force Church of St Clement Danes in London.
- Promoting awareness of the RAuxAF and its history through its website rauxaf.org
The Foundation is administered by a Board of Trustees who are unpaid, and it relies entirely upon grants and donations to fund its activities. It is working in conjunction with the current Force on projects to celebrate and commemorate the 100th Anniversary during 2024.
The Foundation’s overriding priority at the moment is to secure the main Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum for the Nation. It is exploring support from the Heritage Lottery Fund and air-minded Charitable Trusts, but the funding raising task is significant if the Foundation’s ongoing work is to be maintained. The RBL requires just under £15,000 to secure the future of the Memorial and ensure its maintenance in perpetuity.
Whilst the Foundation would appreciate direct contributions to support these projects, any help or advice as to how the Foundation might otherwise obtain funding would be greatly appreciated. Moreover, within your sphere of contacts, there may be other air-minded individuals or organisations, including societies, guilds, trusts and charities that we are not aware of, who might be prepared to support our cause. Please help us to spread the word.
Should you wish to support the Foundation’s work directly, our bank details are Lloyds Bank, Carlisle Branch: Sort Code 30-91-66 and Account Number 00757773. Our registered charity number is 1104826.
