RAuxAF 100 – Stained-Glass Window

A stained-glass window commemorating the 100-year history of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force (RAuxAF) was unveiled by His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester  in the Royal Air Force Club (RAF Club) on 6th October 2024. The window, commissioned and presented by the Beaverbrook Foundation, was designed by Air Specialist Class 1 currently serving in the RAF. His design was one of five shortlisted in a competition sponsored by the RAF Club  and the British Society of Master Glass Painters.

Following the unveiling ceremony, His Royal Highness – who had earlier that day attended a RAuxAF Foundation Service at St Clement Danes Church commemorating the Centenary of the founding of the RAuxAF – attended a joint RAF Club / RAuxAF Foundation Reception at the Club. Most of the attendees at the Reception had been at the Church Service, and over 40 were presented to his Royal Highness. They included Trustees and supporters of the Foundation, families of Auxiliaries who had been killed on active service, RAuxAF Honorary Air Commodores and serving and retired  members of the RAuxAF along with families and friends.
